Ward was born in MonroeLouisiana on April 15,1976. Monroe Christian School is a exclusively Christian private school for children of all ages. As a student in secondary school, Ward initially attended Ouachita High School. She then transferred into River Oaks High School during the summer immediately following her Junior year. Shortly after her graduation she attended Northeast Louisiana University. At the age of thirteen, old, Ward started modeling after leaving school, and then moving to New York in order to achieve this. In the years following she made the decision to try acting. In the 1970s, she first appeared in an uncredited role in the soap-opera All My Children and was later a part of the short-lived NBC prime-time teen-drama Malibu Shores.
